The virtual symposium TikTok and Social Movements will take place on September 20
The TikTok Cultures Research Network is pleased to announce its fourth virtual event TikTok and Social Movements on 20 September organized by founding members Dr Jin Lee, Associate Professor Crystal Abidin, and Dr Bondy Valdovinos Kaye.
The half-day event will take place via Zoom on 20 September at 12.00-17.00 (GMT+8). The event will showcase emergent research on the potentials, promises, pitfalls, and parameters of various movements on TikTok. The event will feature a keynote delivered by Dr Ariadna Matamoros-Fernández (Queensland University of Technology) and four sessions by 16 panelists from Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa, and North America.
We invite students and researchers in academia, professionals from media industries and social media industries, and members of the general public to attend this event.
